About Platform

Platform is a standout venue nestled right in the heart of Glasgow. This space is truly one-of-a-kind, with its six connected arches that have been beautifully restored to show off their original brickwork. It’s got this edgy old-school industrial vibes and modern elegance that makes it perfect for any kind of event you can think of—be it a corporate meeting, product launch, wedding, or even an artistic performance. With 35,000 square feet to play with, the flexibility here is off the charts. Plus, Platform One, the on-site bar and dining, offers a cozy place for private get-togethers, and there’s even a charming outdoor courtyard if you fancy some fresh air amidst the bustling city.

History of Platform

Platform, located under the historic arches of Glasgow Central Station, combines the station’s rich history with modern elegance. Opened in August 1879, Central Station was a pivotal development built by the Caledonian Railway, later expanded between 1899 and 1906 under the direction of architect James Miller and engineer Donald A. Matheson. This expansion included the creation of the twelve iconic arches, initially part of the station’s infrastructure, which have been revitalised to form Platform.

Today, Platform is a versatile event space that retains its historical charm while offering contemporary amenities. The venue’s exposed brickwork and industrial features provide a unique backdrop, perfectly balancing heritage with modern functionality.
